Some people are allergies to specific types of frame materials such as nickel. It will irritate the skins where the frame touch. The most common sympton is a rash in the area where the frame contact. If you know the specific frame materials which will cause your skin irritation, you could avoide it intentionally. As I know the titanium glasses are the best choice for the people with allergies, but if you are still allergic to this kind of frame, you could go to plastic frame. There might be some one who are allergic to the nose pad which is made of silicone. These can be replaced with vinyl nose pads, and any eyeglasses shop can special order the correct pads for your glasses. Another option is to look for frames that do not use nose pads. However, if you have an allergy to the metal, this might not be the best option for you to consider.
