I have a 7 month old Rottweiler /Golden Retriever that has been chewing at multiple different spots on both back legs and now his tail. He has the beautiful fur of a Rottweiler with the black hair and brown markings. But as he s gotten older, we ve noticed that the roots of his black hair is actually blonde (golden retriever) and the tips are black. We are a Very active couple that gives him undivided attention, constantly playing outside and 3-4 45 minute walks a day. But when we aren t looking, he chews his back legs down to the skin. We have given him flea medicine, use oatmeal shampoo for dry skin, and and tried an Epsom salt bath once.
Any suggestions as to get him to stop chewing? Is this something a vet will have to look into? He chewed his fur down to the blonde, he s starting to look half Dalmatian. Will it grow back with black tips again, or will it stay blonde forever?
