There is the other name for the bloodshot eye which also called red eye.  Allergy, eye fatigue, over-wearing contact lenses or common eye infections can cause bloodshot eye. It can also happen when a foreign object or substance has gotten into your eyes suddenly or when infection has formed. Moreover, bloodshot eyes sometimes might be a signal of more serious eye condition or disease, such as uveitis or glaucoma.  If you are uncertain the causes of your bloodshot eye, please ask your doctor for help.

Drinking too much bear will cause bloodshot eye(red eye). After drinking too much alcohol, the tiny blood vessels on the surface of the eyes gets dilated. It impressed people with red and inflamed appearance.  Alcohol abuse also depletes the body's reserve of nutrients needed for eye health. How to prevent red eye when drinking? There is a easy and convenient way.  Getting a towel and put it into refrigerator for around half an hour. Then get it out and put it on your eyes, it will do a fine job to reduce redness, itching and inflammation.

Nowadays, the latest technology might be a main cause for the dry/bloodshot eyes. The people are working at the front of the computer and staring at the screens for a long period of time. The blink of the eyes is decreased. It will cause your eyes dried and strain. Generally, a person always blink his eyes 10 to 15 times per minute. However, when staring at the screen, the just blink only 3-5 times per minutes. So some ophthalmology suggested the 20-20-20 rule, suggesting that every 20 minutes, shift your eyes to look at an object at least 20 feet away, for at least 20 seconds to prevent eye strain.
