Why is it common for accounting students to switch majors?

0 votes
I was just curious because a lot of the people from my graduating class went to universities for accounting, but few actually stuck with it. Do people just find the profession uninteresting over time? Is the program too competitive? Or is it just too costly? What types of things should you know before pursuing this major?

Because accounting requires a certain type of mind that can process information in a unique way. A very boring and tedious way. Lots try it out but fail to understand the basics and then switch or drop out. A few will slog through but still learn nothing in the end but get the credits.I passed both accounting I and II and not quite sure how. But I got "A". All I remember was thinking...."This would suck to do for the rest of my life"
