Is it possible to change the operating system of my computer which runs windows xp by changing its hard drive to another one with windows 7 on it? I can't change the os myself using BIOS because of the computer i just don't know if i can buy a hard drive and just change it and if it can change the os too.

You can, but Windows needs installing on the specific machine hardware. A drive installed on a different computer will not work properly if at all.

You could buy a new (blank) hard drive and install windows to it, assuming the machine is fast enough and has enough RAM for it to work properly on Win 7.

(4GB RAM is really a practical minimum for it to run smoothly).

But, if you cannot change the BIOS settings to start from an install disc, that's still not really practical.

You can, but there are some problems. Windows 7 will probably fail to boot that way, but Windows 10 can be swapped from one PC to another and does boot after adjusting himself and drivers for the new drivers.
