Why are my new brakes only vibrating at 80 mph or faster?

0 votes
I have a 2011 F150. Just installed new brakes last month. They are power stop cross drilled/slotted rotors and carbon/ceramic pads. I was driving home from a road trip today and my truck was shaking when braking at 80mph. Any less and it was fine, smooth and silent. Why is this? Are the brakes not bedded in yet? Will the problem go away? I have a 1 year replacement warranty. If the rotors are warped I can get them replaced for free. Not sure if I should wait longer and this is normal for new brakes or just get the rotors replaced now.

Brakes don't "bed in".

Rotor seems warped or is mounted over rust or dirt, making it wobble slightly.

Spin the rotors on a brake lathe and look. Can use a dial indicator while checking.

What about your front wheel bearings? You did what with them? Old bearings on new races? How did you adjust them? It's 2WD or 4WD? 4WD has hubs. No adjustment.
