If UK Councils can find homes for 20,000 Syrian refugees then why are people still on the waiting lists?

Have they suddenly produced more houses?. This is disgraceful when people are having to sleep on the streets and families are in temporary accommodation. Surely people born here should be put first?.

There are areas, generally run down, non tory, which are barely fit for occupation, councils arrange to house refugees in these properties in the hope that they will receive enough funding to make them habitable...
