I have tried to transition into a vegan diet for a while now and supplemented with Vitamin B12, D and C. I felt great for a few weeks but around the 5th month I started to feel exhausted all the time. I began to feel faint like I wanted to pass out and my hair is falling out like crazy in the bathtub. I tried to eat rice and beans because I knew beans had iron in them but the faint feelings never got better.
Well, I had some meat this week and within two days I literally feel like a new person. My energy is climbing back up and I don't feel like I need to pass out. I feel bad because I don't want to eat dead animals flesh, and after spending time on vegan Facebook groups--I feel kind of guilty about it honestly. I never went into veganism for ethical reasons, it was for health reasons (after hearing about China Study and Forks over Knives documentaries) the evidence that eating vegan can help health appealed greatly to me.
I don't know what to do. I don't want to go back to a SAD diet...I don't eat dairy or gluten, but eating meat really helped me feel better. Maybe I am not eating enough of a vegan diet and need to eat more? How can I remedy this so I can eat vegan?
