Will you get harmed if you smell cigarette smoke?

I was just wondering because i always head that if you smell it, it will harm you just like smoking it (i don't smoke)

If you smell it, no. The only way a cigarette can cause any harm to your body is by directly inhaling the smoke or inhaling the secondhand smoke coming off the cigarette. When people blow out the smoke, it really doesn't do much. They've already filtered out all of the nicotine and tar in the smoke while it was in their lungs, so what comes out of their body is just what's left.
