i used to think that too. unfortunately, no. you need glasses because your eyes are longer than perfectly round, or 20/20. it's the way your eyes are, and its just like having crooked teeth, eczema, etc. but its not a problem; its nature's way that we all function differently.
i know from experience; when my brother first found out that he needed glasses, it was a tiny amount and i had actually said: "don't get glasses, maybe it will go away."
he didn't get glasses, as it wasn't an issue at the time, but a year or so later he started to need them for school, and then he got stronger prescription and started to wear them more... you know the drill.
i also know from experience because i went to sleepover camp and didn't wear glasses or contacts for two weeks... still needed them the same.
and think about it this way: if wearing glasses caused our eyes to need them, then we wouldn't be needing them before getting them, would we? that's why they invented corrective lenses, because no one's nearsightedness was going away back then.
