İ don't want to go college anymore, but my parents?
Hi guys, i'm 17 and in college 2nd year studying Childcare which i hate. İ already fell out off work, so i have outstanding assessments which i'm not going to complete. Last year i was in another college studying business which wasn't for me so i dropped out in the Christmas holidays and came to my college i'm in now. There were no space in other subjects so i had to choose Childcare; i had no other chance. Now i'm fed up of college and i'm supposed to be in work placement since October but i'm lying to my teacher about things so that she forgets about it.

İ don't want to work in a school but i'm getting forced to by my parents. My parents are not allowing me to leave college even though they know i don't want it. İ'm getting forced for everything. İs this life? İt's like i'm in jail :( and i can't take it anymore. İf i leave college and just start working somewhere i will be so happy, but i don't have the right to decide on what i want to do in life. My parents decide, and always will even if i'm an adult.

İ seriously can't take this life anymore. My parents think i actually go to college but i go outside and just walk around then go back home since after Christmas holidays, so 2 weeks. İ don't hide things from my parents and i dont want to, i really want to tell them i wanna work, i dont want college; but how? And even if i tell them, they will shout and won't care about what i want.

Please help me. What shall i do?
İ dont want anything from them, i just want to decide on my own life. Why won't they care about my thoughts :((

It's a shame most parents don't want to reason with their own kids they apparently love. If i had kids i certainly wouldn't force them to do what i want them to do. What i say to you is, just tell them you're quitting or have quit and want to do something else because either way they'll find out eventually. And if they don't like it, they shout etc well so be it. In life you're supposed to do what YOU enjoy. How can anybody else tell YOU what to do and only YOU know what you want to do? Hopefully you can see the sense in what i'm saying. If you do something your parents want you to do you'll only be living a stressful life you hate... Kinda like the childcare course you were doing. I suggest you read the two blog posts below on my blog, they're about the exact things you want answers to. There are more posts on career advice on there as well if you wanna read some more.

I don't want to go to college. How can I tell my parents?
Long story short:
I am of the opinion that in order to be personally successful, a college education is not necessary.
One of my parents, the more reasonable one, knows. The other, less reasonable, does not know, and has already told me, basically, that I am going to college "or else".
My parents have already invested about $7k in 2 college finding services. One is for athletics and one is just to help plan.
I DO NOT want answers advising me to go to college. I want to know the best way to tell my parent that I am not going to college, and that it would be a waste of money if I did.

What do you want to do instead? What is your plan? How will your plan end up better for you in four years than going to college?
7k on college finding?? What happened to Google?
Parents want their kids to be okay. They want them to be better. Your parents view college as the best option.
Think about what you want. How can you accomplish your goals? How will the outcome compare to a college education 4, 8 and 12 years down the line?
Go to your parents armed with your defenses, but make sure you hear them out! Act like an adult, not an argumentive teenager.
Edit: Be prepared for the "or else!". I got kicked out of my mom's house when I told her that I wasn't going to college. We patched things up a little later, but my decision caused so much hurt and anger.
Seven years later, I'm trying to return to college. Be prepared for the "I told you so..."
Also, realize that your parents will want updates on your progress. Be prepared and honest with them. Keep the lines of communication open.
