Another efficient way to fix your plastic frames is by sewing them together. This option is usually used when the bridge is the broken part.
Here is how you can sew your frames together in eight simple steps.
Start by cleaning the eyeglasses well – use sandpaper.
Rinse with water or even sanitary alcohol and wait for them to dry out.
Tie the two pieces together. You can do this with the help of some rubber bands and two small pieces of wooden stick.
Put the stick on the top of the frames and secure it on each side with rubber bands. You do this to hold the two pieces tight when you sew them. You can review this technique fully at Wikihow.
Apply a little glue to the breaking point – be careful to not pour too much and remove any excess super glue with a small cloth, piece of paper or cotton swab.
Leave them on a flat surface and let the glue dry out.
It’s time to sew the frames. To perforate the frame you will have to use a small size drill. Make two small holes, one on each part of the broken frame, in a parallel position.
Use a thin needle that has nylon strings, or thread attached to it to tie the frame together. It’s a slow process but one that will get the job done. Pass it through each of the holes several times to securely tighten it.
Trim what’s left of the thread and then apply another touch of super glue. Let it dry and the frames are ready for you to wear them.
Two stars because you have to be quite the handyman/woman.
