YES! without a doubt not only can it but IT WILL !!! Never shift from drive to reverse or vice versa while moving. Alway come to a Complete Stop or you will be Damaging not only the Transmission but could Cause Damage or Wearing to the CV or Universal Joints as well depending on the vehicle. Which in turn could lead to Wearing or Damage to other Connecting Parts depending on the vehicle for example the Wheel Bearings in a front wheel drive vehicle could potentially be Affected from any Damage caused to and by the Damage shifting between to two gears caused to the CV joint.which again depending on the vehicle could in turn potentially Cause Further Wear n Tear to other parts. So just Take the Proper Time to Stop Before Shifting between Drive and Reverse and Vice Versa.
