Okay so we brought my three year old sister on holiday with us to my grandma's house, and there was a small maltese x bishon there. It was a very nice and friendly dog, although i could tell that he didn't like my sister. I went to go to the bathroom while my parents looked after my sister, when i heard a crap load of dreadful screaming. I came back and my sister had cuts on her ear though nobody saw what happened. Obviously the dog was the culprit because my sister said so. I assume that she was pulling on the dogs fur, which she often does to our dog at home (Our dog just puts up with it). I suppose this dog just acted upon self-defence. Luckily my sister learnt from this experience and hasn't pulled our dog's fur since. So... who do you blame? The toddler, the dog, or the caregivers?
Update: We do scold her for pulling our dog's fur, and she had improved but it still was a bit of a problem. Our dog is also a small beshon, yet he is tolerant
