My brother has a stolen iPhone what should i do?

I came home today and he shows me he has a second hand iPhone 6s and that his friend stole it from another guy and then gave it to him. I feel really bad for whoever owned the phone in the first place because it looks brand new and the guy must've just bought it. I told my brother to get his friend to give it back and that it's not his and he said "No way". Will the guy be able to track the phone? I want it to be given back to its owner.

You need to call the cops and say your brother has a stolen phone that his friend stole from someone else. Yes the guy can track it. Most smart phones (mainly big companies like apple and android) now have apps that connect to computers/tablets/other phones, so they can see where their phone is with GPS. It's better to call the cops yourself so your brother can explain he wasn't the one that stole it, instead of having the cops show up and arrest your brother thinking he stole it.
